Today was the the first day of school. I can't believe how Elliana has been so excited about going to school for weeks now. She looks so grown up all dressed up in her minnie backpack and shoes. I was so disappointed that I could not bring her to school today because as always Mommy had to go to sleep after working all night. But I am so glad that I got to spend the morning with her, eating breakfast and packing her lunch (her choice- ham and cheese sandwich, grapes and carrot sticks).
I can't believe how heavy my heart felt to see Elliana walk out the door to go to school. I could see the excitement in her eyes but I could not keep the tears in mine from rolling. I know she will be growing up and needing to spread her wings to explore the world, it's still a hard pill to swallow to know my baby is ready to fly.
